Ciarán Doran joins M2A Media as chief executive officer
M2A Media has appointed Ciarán Doran as CEO to work alongside Marcus Box who takes up the role of founder & CTO.
Formerly with Rohde & Schwarz and Pixel Power in senior leadership roles, Doran has been at the heart of the media entertainment technology sector throughout his career.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, including a decade each at Sony and Harris Broadcast in engineering, product management, commercial and executive roles, Doran offers a wealth of experience across the complete business arena. In recent years, through his organisation Deep Blue Sapphire, he has specialised in transforming businesses that bring leading-edge technology to market by building growth in sales and the corporate bottom line.
Doran began his career as a classical clarinettist, recording engineer and electronic engineer, working on the creative, technical and commercial sides of the pro-audio and broadcast industry. This unique combination enables him to understand the deep elements of how technology enables creativity in media and entertainment.
M2A has also confirmed the appointment of Graham Pitman as chairperson to its board of directors.
A respected leader in the broadcast technology industry, Pitman brings his experience of developing early stage companies to M2A Media, where he will provide strategic direction to support the company’s ambitious growth plans.
A sector entrepreneur with considerable experience of helping companies to scale, Pitman now holds a portfolio of non-executive roles. One of the original founders of Pro-Bel, he was awarded the EY Private Equity deal of the year in 2008 for the merger of Pro-Bel with S&W to create Snell. He has had a long association with IABM and was appointed an honorary member in 2019 for his services to the industry. He is also a director of IABM Ltd, which owns the IABM share of IBC.
Doran and Pitman join the M2A board of directors comprising: co-founder and CTO, Marcus Box, co-founder and non-executive director, Marina Kalkanis, CFO, Sam Hewitt, COO, Leon Box and non-executive directors Matthew Postgate, Chris Ross and Leslie Hurst, who will be handing over the role of chair to Pitman.
