Comprimato leverages Phabrix QxL rasteriser to advance development of 2110-compliant encoders

Czechia-based Comprimato, a leader in software encoding and transcoding solutions for broadcast and pro-AV markets, has chosen the Phabrix QxL rasteriser for its product development process to enhance quality assurance and develop ST 2110-compliant video encoders.

Comprimato faced the challenge of ensuring its software-based ST 2110-compliant encoder outputs adhered to industry standards. To address this, it integrated the QxL into its operations, utilising the unit’s analysis, compliance and monitoring tools for quality assurance (QA).

“The Phabrix QxL has proven invaluable in streamlining our QA process,” said Jiri Matela, CEO of Comprimato. “Its comprehensive analysis and monitoring tools have been pivotal in ensuring the compatibility and robustness of our 2110 encoder.”

The QxL comes equipped with native 10G/25G IP support, enabling the generation and analysis of key standards including JT-NM TR 1001-1:2018 and ST 2110-20 for video. It also supports up to four 2110-30 (PCM) and 2110-31 (AES3 transport) audio streams, along with a 2110-40 ANC media flow. Additionally, it features 2022-7 Seamless IP Protection Switching (SIPS) and incorporates AMWA NMOS IS-04 for discovery and IS-05 for device connection management.

The single QxL unit, supplied by local distributor MST, is now an integral part of Comprimato’s automated QA workflows, enhancing efficiency and ensuring the reliability of the encoder outputs. With advanced IP analysis features and high-performance monitoring capabilities, the QxL has enabled Comprimato to meet stringent industry standards.

Martin Mulligan, COO of Leader Electronics of Europe, commented: “We’re delighted to see Comprimato leveraging the capabilities of the Phabrix QxL to drive their innovation forward. Supporting cutting-edge development is central to our mission, and this exemplifies the value the QxL can bring to next-generation workflows.”
