DAZN to exclusively broadcast Bellew vs Haye fight in Austria and Germany

DAZN has secured the rights to show the eagerly anticipated rematch between British boxers Tony Bellew and David Haye in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This comes just a few weeks after the heavyweight unification bout between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker, and is the latest offering as part of DAZN’s extensive fight sports coverage. The fight, which takes place on May 5 from 7pm (CET) at London’s O2 arena, will be exclusively broadcast in Germany and Austria, and non-exclusively in Switzerland.

London native David Haye will be well known to boxing fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, having previously challenged Ukrainian legend Wladimir Klitschko to a unification bout back in 2011. Klitschko was a unanimous winner on that occasion, and with Haye now approaching the twilight of his career, he’ll be hoping that the rematch with Bellew presents an opportunity to bask in the glory of one final triumph.

Both fighters will be looking to steer clear of injuries this time round, with Haye suffering a ruptured Achilles in the sixth round of last year’s clash, effectively restricting him to fighting on one leg. Bellew, who upset the odds to claim an 11th round stoppage after Haye’s corner threw in the towel, reportedly suffered a broken hand in the second round but still went on to claim the biggest victory of his career. DAZN subscribers will be able to follow the complete fight night offering, with coverage beginning at 7pm (CET).

DAZN is committed to showing the very best boxing fights from around the world. In the last 12 months, DAZN has been the home for some of the most-watched and most-talked about bouts globally, including Mayweather vs. McGregor, Joshua vs. Klitschko and most recently Joshua vs. Parker. The Bellew vs. Haye rematch is the latest instalment of the #DAZNfightclub series, offering fans an unrivalled build up to fight night.

In the lead-up to the fight, DAZN will broadcast interviews with both boxers as well as the pre-fight press conference and the weigh-in. Fans will also be able to catch-up with the fight on-demand for up to two weeks. All fights broadcast on DAZN come as part of a regular subscription, with no additional or pay-per-view costs incurred.
