deltatre and EVS extend digital and broadcast partnership

Digital sport market company deltatre has struck a deal with live video production technology provider EVS for the joint delivery of the 2015/2016 UEFA Champions League season. The announcement follows a multi-year collaboration between the two companies, which have been developing digital and broadcast services for major sport events’ coverage since 2007.

Under the deal, EVS’ C-Cast cloud-based multimedia solution and XT3 video servers will combine with deltatre’s Diva and Magma products, providing clients with solutions that boast a smooth integration among different technologies. The move is also significant for both rights holders and sports audiences — offering broadcasters further forays into TV-based services, as well as evolving the streaming landscape for fans to consume content on the many different platforms available today.

“Through this partnership with deltatre, EVS furthers its strategy of enabling customers to build audiences in new and meaningful ways. Not only we will heighten the reach and experience of the world’s most important sporting events, but we also fully intend to continue innovating around enhanced sports experiences on all devices,” said Luc Doneux, EVP CCO at EVS

Carlo De Marchis, CPO at deltatre, said: “We are delighted to continue working with EVS and to keep fostering innovation in digital sports. This partnership is firmly in line with deltatre’s position of innovative integrator.”

Recently, deltatre has also appointed Ingo Lalla as Commercial Director, taking on lead commercial responsibility for the German speaking markets as well as the Middle East. Currently in Dubai, Ingo will relocate to the deltatre facility in Munich, Germany, in January 2016.

With extensive international professional experience in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Ingo arrives at deltatre from Limelight Networks, where he most recently served as Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, working with leading sports and media clients. Ingo also worked as a Sales Executive on large-scale digital projects in various industries, notably in TV, desktop and mobile media distribution for sport organisations and telcos.
