DTG chief executive Richard Lindsay-Davies made SMPTE Fellow

DTG chief executive Richard Lindsay-Davies will be honoured at this year’s SMPTE Awards Gala after being named as a SMPTE Fellow 2021.

This honour is conferred on individuals who have, “through their proficiency and contributions to the motion-picture, television, or related industries, attained an outstanding rank among engineers or executives in media and entertainment”.

Lindsay-Davies, who was also named one of the top 50 most influential people in the industry earlier this year, has spent more than 30 years in the television industry, driving the DTG’s collaborative culture for more than a decade and placing it firmly at the centre of UK TV.

He said: “I am delighted and humbled to have been recognised in this way and to have joined so many of my personal heroes and heroines as a SMPTE Fellow.

“I consider myself incredibly privileged to work in an industry that continues to deploy bleeding edge science and technology to create experiences that engage, delight and connect viewers around the world. It is that dynamism that means our work is never done and together, as we reach another inflection point, I for one cannot wait for what comes next.”
