EBU to distribute LEN events

The Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) has appointed the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) as its preferred partner to distribute the worldwide media rights of the aquatic events it organises until 2016.

Under this agreement, LEN will work exclusively with the EBU on the worldwide exploitation of the media rights on all distribution platforms. The agreement covers the major events organised by the European governing body and includes among others the European Swimming Championships, the European Short Course Championships and the European Water Polo Championships.

Stefan Kuerten, Director Sports & Business, EBU, says: “The contract between the EBU and LEN is further proof of the mutual trust in this longstanding relationship and of a shared belief in the importance of wide-reaching, free to air exposure for key sports like swimming.”
