Edgeware, CSI Digital provide hosted IP infrastructure for independent operators
Distributed video delivery specialist Edgeware, and CSI Digital have announced their partnership to provide a set of hosted solutions for cable and telco operators who are seeking to upgrade to modern IP delivery of live TV and video on demand (VOD) services for a true multiscreen offering.
The joint offering is the first to provide independent operators with a customisable and highly scalable hosted IP multiscreen solution for both live TV and VOD to fit the specific needs of customers while significantly cutting costs and time to market.
While independent operators look to deliver advanced TV services to their subscribers and remain competitive, they often don’t have the resources and engineering expertise to build their own IP infrastructure. Coupled with the fast-changing regulatory environment, independent operators also need to minimise regulatory risk while enhancing network flexibility. This partnership was formed specifically to support independent operators, reducing capex and offloading much of the overhead of an IP multiplatform infrastructure buildout. The solution is based on Edgeware’s Video Consolidation Platform (VCP), hosted by CSI Digital.
CSI Digital enhances the foundation solution by offering a suite of products and services – customised to the unique needs of each service provider. Options include IP set-top boxes, operator UI development, integrated DRM and encryption, content ingest and access to local and regional content packages, billing and back office integration.
