Eurosport renews cycling deal with ASO for Asia-Pacific

Eurosport has renewed its deal with cycling event organisers Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) for the exclusive TV and digital rights of eight major cycling races of the international calendar from 2017 to 2021 in the Asia-Pacific region. In Asia, the package includes the iconic Grand Tours the Tour de France and La Vuelta a España, as well as three prestigious Classics — Paris-Roubaix, Flèche Wallonne, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège; the two French World Tour stage races – Paris-Nice and Critérium du Dauphiné; and one of the last major end of season races, Paris-Tours. The same package, excluding the Tour de France, is renewed for Australia and the Pacific region.

Peter Hutton, Chief Executive Officer, Eurosport said, “Eurosport has a fantastic, longstanding partnership with ASO and we are excited to continue to deliver the best races including the Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix to the Asia-Pacific region. Eurosport’s cycling coverage is unrivalled bringing all three Grand Tours, the greatest Classics and best one-day and stage races to cycling fans internationally.”

“These fans have enjoyed Eurosport’s finest ever coverage of the Tour this year. For the first time we have had access to ASO’s international feed and cameras, allowing us to customise our viewer experience, along with footage from on-board cameras on the riders’ bikes for exciting and insightful highlight packages. That, along with the daily on-site show with legend Greg LeMond featuring 3D graphics for the first time, has made the 102nd Tour de France a stellar year for Eurosport,” Hutton added.
