Rupinder will lead the company’s commercial strategy, unlocking new brand partnerships and revenue opportunities across FilmNova’s portfolio of live sports, creative content and digital ventures. Her appointment marks a major step in FilmNova’s plans to build stronger links between broadcasters, rights holders and brands, and to accelerate growth through new digital and commercial models.
Phil Sibson, managing director at FilmNova, said: “Rupinder’s track record at Channel 4 in creating partnerships that connect audiences, brands and broadcasters is second to none. She brings a strategic mindset, deep industry relationships and a brilliant understanding of how commercial creativity can power content. We’re excited to have her join the team as we look to drive FilmNova’s next phase of growth.”
Downie added: “FilmNova’s ambition and reputation for producing world-class sport and original content is genuinely impressive. There’s a real opportunity to build on that creative strength by forging new partnerships that enhance audience engagement and drive commercial growth. Downie’s arrival follows a strong year for FilmNova, which has recently been awarded the contract to produce the Boat Race as it moves to Channel 4 in a landmark five year right deal. The company has also picked up three nominations at the 2025 Broadcast Sport Awards, including Sports Production Company of the Year.
