FOR-A intros 4K frame-rate converter
FOR-A will introduce the FRC-9000 4K frame rate converter at IBC2014. Featuring FOR-A’s enhanced motion compensated frame rate conversion technology, FOR-A will showcase the FRC-9000 in its IBC booth, Hall 2, Stand A51.
The FRC-9000 builds upon the success of FOR-A’s FRC-8000 frame rate converter and provides high-quality conversion. Ideal for live transmission use, the unit can be used as a 2 X HD/SD-SDI frame rate converter. The FRC-9000 is ideal for broadcast and film production, offers 3G/HD/SD multi-format support, and can be used for 4K applications.
FOR-A’s new frame rate converter includes up, down, and cross conversion, automatic scene cut detection for simple processing of scene changes, adaptive interlace-to- progressive conversion, detection of 24 effective frames in 2:3 pulldown-converted 60i/p material for high-quality conversion, and detailed level setup. The FRC-9000 features an easy-to-use front panel touch screen and Web browser control, giving users the option to remotely control their unit. The frame rate converter also offers Dolby E support.
“The FRC-8000 has proven to be successful for broadcasting, sports, and live applications,” said Hiro Tanoue, General Manager of Overseas Sales and Marketing, FOR-A Company Ltd. “With its state-of-the-art motion compensated frame rate technology, FOR-A anticipates the new FRC-9000 to be a popular unit. We’re looking forward to introducing it to IBC attendees.”
FOR-A will also display its FRC Export Plug-in file-based video format converter at its IBC booth. First introduced earlier this year at NAB, the FRC Export Plug-in is a high-quality video format converter/MXF exporter plug-in software for Adobe Premiere Pro CC/CS6 Windows that includes both vector motion compensation and linear compensation conversion.
