France Télévisions chooses Aspera for file transfer

Aspera has announced that following a rigorous public tender, France Télévisions, the French public broadcaster, has selected Aspera to provide next-generation file transfer, content distribution and automation frameworks that exploit the company’s patented high-speed fasp transport platform.

At France Télévisions, the growing demand for content contribution on a global scale drove the need for radically increased efficiencies, improved reliability, and a faster overall delivery pipeline. It was therefore necessary to fully streamline broadcast operations by implementing an orchestration solution along with high-speed content transport capabilities to move large media files through their supply chain, from ingest to distribution.

“As the leading broadcaster in France, we have an obligation to ensure our workflows are as streamlined as possible and enable us to offer high-quality and varied entertainment to our audience. For this, we required a solution that not only delivers high-performance, scalable and cost-effective data transfer over long-distances, but also handles the automation of our complex end-to-end workflows. We identified Aspera as the clear leader and the software has met our extensive needs, meeting our expectations for improved capabilities,” comments Philippe Rouaud, director of broadcast engineering and IT at France Télévisions.

Bruce Brewer, European sales director at Aspera, says: “We are delighted to be given the opportunity to support France Télévisions in its mission to deliver the highest quality content to its audience in the best possible timeframe. The combination of fasp high-speed file transfer software and Orchestrator automation is the ideal foundation to power efficient, modern media workflows at France Télévisions.”
