Grass Valley captures 2016 HPA Award for GV Node

The Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) will present its 2016 HPA Engineering Excellence Awards during the upcoming HPA Awards gala on November 17 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Receiving one of these awards this year is the GV Node real time IP processing and edge routing platform from Grass Valley. The award will be accepted by Chuck Meyer, chief technology officer, production, Grass Valley.

“With GV Node, we provide a bridge between the broadcast and IP worlds by delivering critical functions required by broadcasters but not available in traditional IP solutions,” noted Neerav Shah, senior vice president of strategic marketing, Grass Valley. “The award from HPA recognises the impact that GV node is having on the increasing adoption of IP by many of today’s leading broadcasters.”

GV Node is a fundamental building block of a Broadcast Data Center, which provides deterministic, vertically accurate switching of video signals whether they originate as SDI or IP, such as SMPTE ST 2022-6. GV Node offers integrated processing of video and audio signals and multiviewers for reduced cabling. The modular nature of the GV Node is ideal for distributed architectures and scales from very small to very large systems, especially when combined with COTS IP switches.

In addition to capturing the Engineering Excellence Award for the GV Node, Grass Valley also received an Honorable Mention for the LDX 86N Native 4K Series Camera.
