IABM Design and Innovation Awards open for entries

The International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) is inviting entries for the 2015 Design and Innovation Awards. The industry accolades recognise products that offer significant solutions or new opportunities to the broadcast and media industry. Applications are invited across nine industry segments, with an unprecedented number of award categories available for entry this year. Companies are being given the opportunity to receive recognition for their most outstanding products or services. The nine categories reflect the breadth of the broadcast industry pipeline, from acquisition of content to playout and delivery.

The deadline for this year’s awards is Friday 10 July, and submissions include hardware, software, system or service solutions, or innovative technology based service offerings. Applications will be measured on the basis of the perceived impact to the industry in terms of end user benefit, value for money, innovation, implementation, performance or new opportunities created.

John Ive, the IABM director of technology and strategic insight, says: “As the industry transitions through major changes, the awards mark the importance of those innovative and creative solutions that can bring real value to end users.

“Every year, our judging panel is faced with the enormous task of scoring all entries that we receive against the level of innovation that each promises. The competition looks set to be stronger than ever for 2015 and we’re really looking forward to seeing those creations that could have a significant impact on the market.”

The awards will be judged by a panel of independent specialists, chaired by John Ive. The winners will be announced at the IABM reception and awards ceremony at IBC on Saturday 12 September.
