IBC 2022: Arrow-V multichannel recording and replay server new from Slomo.tv

Slomo.tv is set to introduce a new addition to the Arrow product line at IBC2022 – Arrow-V.

Arrow servers are compact and lightweight systems suitable for mobile solutions and integration into the existing infrastructure of studios and OB vans.

Compared to the previous Arrow-III model, Arrow-V doubles the number of recording channels. The server is equipped with 16 bidirectional SDI I/Os and provides 14 3G/HD-SDI recording channels in replay mode.

In recording for NLE mode, the server supports up to 16 channels.

The SSD-based disk subsystem provides high performance and resistance to mechanical impact (shock and heavy vibration). The Arrow-V is available with different disk subsystem capacity – 66/133/266/530 hours of 100Mbps HD video.

Despite its compact size, it supports up to two independent full-featured workplaces. For replay configurations with one workplace, the server provides 14 recording channels + 14 search сhannels + 2 playback channels with transition effects (FX). In a two-workplace replay configuration, each operator works with up to seven recording channels + seven search channels + two playback channels + FX with SDI output for PGM and PVW output on the multiviewer screen.

A large number of 3G-SDI recording channels in replay mode and a simple quick interface make Arrow-V suitable for slow motion replays at esports events.

Using slomo.tv’s DMR technology, the server can record up to 16 video channels with ProRes 442 codec into NLE native files on alienable disks. For recording of five to six channels with Avid DNxHD/ProRes 422 codecs, Slomo.tv recommends using SSD disks, which can be installed in three built-in trayless/toolless racks located on the front panel (2.5-3.5in hard drive caddies/adaptors are required). Available codecs: DCT-based I-Frame, ProRes 422, DNxHD, DVCPro HD, XDCAM422 50Mbit, XDCAM 35, AVC-Intra 100/50, XAVC.

The system comes with a specialised replay remote panel – Control-ZR, equipped with 51 illuminated RGB buttons, jog/shuttle and T-Bar for playback speed control. The controller is connected via Ethernet, USB, RS-232 or RS-422.
