IBC 2024: Telos Alliance Debuts Eight New Products
Telos Alliance will debut eight new products for radio and TV broadcasters this week at Europe’s largest annual broadcast technology show, IBC, in Amsterdam’s RAI Centre.
New Telos Alliance products on display in Stand #8.D37 will include:
- Telos Infinity Virtual Commentator Panel: A unique extension to the popular Telos Infinity VIP IP-based virtual intercom platform, Infinity Virtual Commentator Panel (VCP) enables remote contributors to access commentary or announcer stations from anywhere in the world using any PC, tablet, or smartphone with a modern HTML5 browser, via the Telos Infinity VIP app for iOS and Android devices, or with the Elgato Stream Deck + plugin when hardware control is desired. Users can mute the on-air microphone feed when using comms, and create a custom monitor mix of IFB, program, mix-minus, and aux sources, each with individual gain controls.
- Telos VX Duo Broadcast VoIP Phone System: The latest addition to the Telos VX family of broadcast VoIP phone systems, VX Duo brings broadcasters the smooth user experience and excellent audio they expect from Telos, at a price point that puts broadcast-quality VoIP within the reach of any budget. A compact, silent device that can be placed on any studio surface, VX Duo comes with two channels/hybrids and is expandable to eight channels/hybrids in two-channel increments, with easy connection to cloud VoIP providers and user control via familiar Telos VSet phones, console call controllers, and VX-compatible call screening software.
- The Jünger Audio flexAI Platform introduces the exciting new features enabled with the release of flexAI software version 2023-12r4. A major upgrade for the AIXpressor and flexAIserver audio processing platforms, this update introduces an abundance of performance and convenience features to these already indispensable products, including full support for SMPTE ST 2110-30 and -31 Level A, B, and C, -41 metadata, Livewire+ AoIP streams, compatibility with NMOS IS-04 and IS-05, and Serial ADM professional metadata support. An enhanced voice-over automixer for optimal dialog balance plus a matrix mixer with up to 16 channels and multichannel delay expands flexibility and functionality, while a new FM Conditioner aids in compliance with ITU-R BS.412 MPX Power regulations.
- Axia StudioCore: A versatile new integrated mixing engine for the best-selling Axia iQ, Radius, RAQ, and DESQ family of AoIP consoles, StudioCore is a sleek, fanless, 2RU device that provides a 24-channel mixing engine with 32input/32output Livewire+ AES stream capacity, a 5-port Ethernet switch with PoE, internal power supply (with optional second internal PSU), multiple channels of digital, analog, and Livewire+ AES67 I/O, and a USB-based audio file player. Two amplified headphone outputs, 4 GPIO ports, and a 5” color touchscreen display complete the package.
- Axia StudioEdge, the sibling of the new StudioCore mixing engine, is a high-density I/O device designed to complement the Axia xNode family of products. StudioEdge features the same complement of high-density I/O, built-in Ethernet switch and power supply options as StudioCore, making it an all-in-one I/O solution in control rooms of any size. I can also be deployed as a compact endpoint in studios equipped with Axia Quasar mixing consoles or as an ingest station or routing and monitoring solution in TOCs and machine rooms.
- Linear Acoustic AERO-series DTV Audio Processors: AERO.20, AERO.200, and AERO.2400 are the brand-new DTV hardware audio processors from Linear Acoustic and represent the latest and most advanced offerings in the trusted AERO lineup. All three provide integrated loudness control, upmixing, Nielsen and Verance Aspect watermark encoding, Dolby AC-3 encoding, SAP audio, downmixing, and automated EAS and text-to-speech audio insertion, and introduce new and important features including dual, independent 3G SDI I/O paths to support 1080p signals, AES67 I/O in support of SMPTE ST 2110-10 along with Livewire+, user-selectable metering and logging options for EBU R 128 or ATSC A/85, and additional security features. AERO.20 is a PCM-only processor for applications where Dolby coding and audience measurement watermarking are not required; AERO.200 is similar but offers either one or two instances of AEROMAX loudness control and UPMAX 2- to 5.1-channel upmixing, optional Dolby Digital Plus transcoding and Nielen or Verance Aspect audience measurement watermarking. AERO.2400 delivers all of the advanced features of AERO.200 with even more I/O versatility via eight pairs of AES3 I/O, plus the convenience of a color display, navigation controls, and front-panel headphone jack.
- Telos Zephyr Connect High-Density Codec Gateway: This new software-based multi-codec gateway can be configured to provide between 2 and 64 bidirectional codec channels, expandable in 1-channel increments, making it ideal for transmission of multiple linear or MPEG channels over VPNs, satellite, Ethernet radio, and Telco/ISP services such as SD-WAN, MPLS, or legacy data links. Encoding algorithms include genuine Fraunhofer AAC, AAC-HE, AAC-HEv2, AAC-LD, MP3, and MP2, plus optional Enhanced aptX. An optional Content Delay feature enables scheduled playout of select received audio channels plus synchronized GPIO and ancillary data.
