IBC2023: White Light to introduce Integration team and showcase immersive technologies

White Light (WL) – a d&b solutions company – will return to the IBC Show later this month. This follows a year of milestone international broadcast projects for the company, working with clients including Sky Sports, Warner Bros. Discovery Eurosport, BBC, Sky News and ITV.

It also comes after a period of rapid business evolution and WL will be introducing its new and growing dedicated Integration team, led by Nick Atkins, at the show. Neil Coles, WL’s business development manager – broadcast, will also be in attendance. This will be the integrator’s first IBC appearance as a d&b solutions company, showcasing the potential for a range of immersive technologies, driving innovation for broadcast studios of the future.

WL’s stand will be shared with Brompton Technology. The two companies have previously collaborated to launch products to market, such as Brompton’s Frame Remapping, in conjunction with WL’s SmartStage.

“We are thrilled to be exhibiting at one of the world’s most inspiring content and technology events for the first time, and to be sharing the space with our friends at White Light, who we’ve enjoyed a long and collaborative relationship with,” said Cesar Caceres, product lead at Brompton Technology. “We’re looking forward to welcoming IBC2023 visitors to the booth, where we’ll be showcasing our latest LED video processing solutions for the media and entertainment industry, alongside a series of demos. The most exciting of these will be on our TrueLight technology, which brings a new level of image quality that recreates real-world environments more accurately than ever before.”

Furthermore, WL’s technical solutions director Andy Hook and senior solutions architect Will Draffin will be IBC Accelerator Media Innovation session panellists exploring 5G Motion Capture, Real-time XR and Synthetic Humans. Following WL’s involvement in these ambitious projects, additional Innovation Stage sessions, utilising SmartStage, will present some of the latest industry trends and technology. These include markerless motion capture from Move.ai, NeRFs and AI content creation tools for virtual production.

Hook commented: “We’re thrilled to be returning to IBC, alongside SmartStage, and building on our collaboration with Brompton Technology. We’ve had an exceptional year for major broadcast projects and significantly progressed our sustainability journey, becoming a certified B Corporation, albert supplier and joining the United Nations Global Compact initiative. We’re looking forward to introducing our new Integration team and particularly with the Accelerator programme, being a part of the industry’s future defining conversations and innovations.”
