IBC2024: Chyron to feature next-level data and playout control, enhanced newsroom visual storytelling and new cloud-native innovations
The Chyron stand at IBC2024 will feature customer-driven innovations along with new features driven by focused long-term planning across its sports portfolio, further enhancements and efficiencies to driving an array of visual storytelling elements from the newsroom, and new updates to its cloud native live production platform, Chyron Live.
“At present, our industry is in a period of volatility and uncertainty. Media companies need to serve more outlets with less resources. Without compromising on graphics quality, we have tailored our solutions and optimised our workflows to allow our customers to streamline their production and distribution process at a predictable total cost of ownership for the entire usage life cycle,” stated Alain Polgar, Chyron senior vice president of sales, EMEA and APAC.
Recent releases of Chyron Prime have included functionalities that are the result of strong collaboration with customers, notably NBC Sports and other top tier sportscasters as they prepared to drive live production for major sporting events in 2024.
IBC attendees will be able to see a playout workflow that further simplifies operation while enabling greater control over the types of data displayed in live-to-air graphics. New dynamic data functionality allows playout operators to control not only the display of real-time data in a graphic, but the data source and also the actions that the data will trigger. Additionally, with easily customisable control panels, designers can provide access to specific parameters and give playout operators just the right amount of control and flexibility.
Additional advancements in Chyron’s sports production portfolio include enhancements to its illustrated replay solution, Paint including full UHD/4K capabilities as well as a new playlist module eliminating the need for a traditional replay server along with an array of new telestration tools and additional options for skinning the interface for branded on-air display. Chyron VSAR will be on display as well, now with support for Unreal Engine 5 as well as new readily made components and tools to maximise time-to-air. Experts will be on hand to share how VSAR has created an exciting commentary environment for recent major sporting events. Visitors can also see VP, a stalwart in the placement of in-video offsides lines as well as virtual advertising on the pitch, around the arena, or on buildings or any other surface.
Also on show will be Camio, Chyron’s MOS-enabled graphic asset newsroom integration system in a complete news workflow, driving Prime CG graphics, as well as Prime Video Walls, Prime Clips, VSAR (virtual sets) and even Chyron Weather. Further, visitors can see Prime graphics within the Camio – NRCS workflow enhanced with assets from Axis. This flexible visual asset order creation and management tool, significantly improves the efficiency of news production by enabling journalists and news producers to create images, maps and charts themselves, in minutes rather than hours to fulfill imagery needs directly within the Prime – Camio – NRCS workflow. Now running on AWS Cloud with freshly updated maps and charts, as well as integrations with leading image providers, NRCS, and NLE, AXIS enables fast, scalable graphics creation for individuals or distributed teams.
The latest new features for Chyron Live, including expanded audio control capabilities, advanced playlist features, additional graphics templates, and many user interface improvements, will also be demonstrated.
