IBC2025: Astrodesign to showcase IP-4042 8K real-time ROI extractor

Astrodesign will use IBC2025 to introduce the IP-4042 real-time ROI (Region of Interest) extractor, capable of turning a single 8K (7680×4320) or 4K (3840×2160) camera feed into up to four fully independent Full HD (1920×1080) outputs – each representing a user-defined region dynamically extracted from the source image. These ROIs can be positioned and resized in real time, effectively delivering the functionality of a four-camera production setup from one fixed-position source.
Pan, tilt and zoom of extracted images are managed via a dedicated application, allowing operators to define and recall extraction positions through external controllers or programmable presets – enabling flexible framing for dynamic scenes and precision multi-view production. IP-4042 supports 1080/50P HDR to deliver rich colour and smooth motion and offers low latency and a solid hardware design.

Also new is the AB-4838 / AC-4837, a multipurpose camera equipped with an 8192×8192-pixel image sensor, the company’s highest resolution to date.
The square-format sensor enables efficient coverage of fisheye lens imagery, making it ideal for immersive VR content creation. Compared with standard 16:9 resolution, the AB-4838 / AC-4837 captures wider vertical information, delivering deeper, more dimensional visuals.
Through selective activation of the sensor’s drive area, the camera supports high-frame-rate formats including 8K x 4K at 120p and 8K x 2K at 240p, perfect for capturing fast-moving subjects in expansive venues like racetracks and athletic stadiums.
