IBC2025: Eluvio unveils live broadcast distribution to replace satellite and fibre point-to-point

In advance of IBC2025, Eluvio has unveiled a new ultra-efficient capability intended to displace legacy satellite and point-to-point fibre for live global broadcast feed distribution (SMPTE 2110/2022) with Content Fabric distribution over commodity IP, delivering sub-second latency, multi-path redundant routing, and security, without cloud round trips or egress fees.

The Content Fabric now ingests raw video over IP (SMPTE 2110/2022 JPEG-XS) and MPEG-TS (UDP, RTP, SRT) and dynamically distributes all program streams – audio, video and ancillary data – as Content Object ‘parts’, and generates SRT/RTP/TS outputs to global takers on demand. Average global latencies are under 500 milliseconds independent of ingest and egress location. Built on the Content Fabric’s novel zero-copy routing and distribution protocol, the transport is multi-path, fully reliable and scales, bringing breakthrough cost efficiency and simplicity. Live feed ‘parts’ persist, providing unlimited recording, replay and archive without file copies or redistribution.

In addition, Eluvio has announced several major new capabilities to the Eluvio Content Fabric (Bangkok Release) and Application Suite for direct-to-consumer (D2C) and B2B video distribution and monetisation at scale for sports leagues, premium content owners, and streamers across the globe, which have powered growth to over 500 live events. New advanced viewing features include unlimited multiview, enhanced no-code TV and browser apps, versatile sales models, built-in entitlements and dynamic ad insertion.

Eluvio also unveiled the first-ever fully automatic live sports highlights generation using inline agentic AI with zero-copies/retranscodings/exports, personalisation and generation during live events.  Built into the Eluvio Video Intelligence Editor (EVIE) the feature uses the novel agentic AI pipeline, created by Eluvio’s AI team, combining frame accurate multi-modal AI metadata tagging, speech-to-text, AI vector search, in-Fabric open source LLMs, custom models, third-party data feeds, and inline compositions.

Michelle Munson, CEO and co-founder of Eluvio, said: “Our new live broadcast feed distribution is the kind of game-changing alternative made possible by the Content Fabric. It eliminates the need for expensive satellite distribution and dedicated point-to-point video while providing global sub-second latency and end-to-end security across both D2C and B2B use cases. Coupled with our deep AI-native features and D2C streaming stack, content owners can overcome decades-old barriers of content distribution and open vast new possibilities for monetisation. This is what video-in-the-cloud was meant to be.”
