GlobalM (stand 1.A11) is integrating its GMX software-defined media platform with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), bringing the two companies’ technologies together for live media contribution, processing and distribution.
The integration will enable GMX Cloud services to run across OCI regions, expanding the infrastructure available to broadcasters, sports organisations and media companies for live media workflows.
GMX will use automation to deploy the compute, networking, media processing and routing resources required for each service. Infrastructure can be provisioned and configured on demand, while point-to-multipoint contribution and distribution paths are established automatically. Resources can also be scaled as requirements change and released when services are completed.
The approach allows broadcasters to schedule and use OCI infrastructure without manually building and configuring the underlying cloud environment for each production.
OCI’s networking and compute architecture supports configurable resources for different workloads. Its Flexible Shapes allow compute and memory resources to be configured according to individual requirements. GlobalM said this will allow GMX to optimise infrastructure for applications including SRT and RIST gateways, transcoding, remultiplexing and high-throughput media distribution.
Oracle’s global cloud infrastructure will also support GlobalM’s distributed architecture. GMX processing and routing nodes can be deployed across OCI locations, allowing contribution feeds to enter the cloud close to their source and receiving broadcasters to connect through infrastructure close to their destination.
GlobalM said this approach is intended to keep unmanaged first- and last-mile connections as short as practical, while the core media workflow operates across managed cloud infrastructure.
The integration will also support hybrid workflows. GMX1 processing and routing nodes deployed within customer facilities will be able to operate alongside GMX Cloud resources running on OCI. Combined with Oracle’s hybrid cloud capabilities, this will allow broadcasters to integrate existing facilities with cloud-based processing, international distribution, additional capacity, redundancy and disaster recovery.

GlobalM and Oracle will demonstrate GMX running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure at IBC2026, taking place from 11 to 14 September at RAI Amsterdam. GlobalM will be at Hall 1, Stand 1.A11, while Oracle will be at Hall 5, Stand 5.A21.
