Imagen adds live stream capture and social media publishing capabilities to video management platform

According to Imagen, the new features included in Version 6 show the company accelerating the convergence of live and archive workflows, to deliver more efficient and economically scalable cloud based media management.

The new live-to-archive streaming service enables content owners to view, capture and archive incoming feeds – from sports tournaments, live TV, or key note speeches. Highlights can be clipped from the stream in real-time and published to a subscribing audience or social media channels. The finished live feed can also be added to the archive where it can be accessed and repurposed later. Incoming streams can also be indexed in real-time with descriptive data using Imagen’s Media Logger tool – for rapid one click shotlisting of valuable sports or entertainment media – or to annotate business video.

Automated updates

Other new features include the introduction of automated updates so subscribers can be notified by emails or RSS feeds when relevant content is added to the Imagen platform.

Already in use by the English Premier League, IMG, BP, Channel 4, BBC, ATP Media and the BFI, the media portal will continue to help organisations manage their large video libraries more efficiently.

Imagen will be showcasing Imagen Version 6 at shows during Q1 of 2018 in the UK (BVE), US (NAB) and Asia (SportelAsia).

Charlie Horrell, CEO of Imagen, said: “With the introduction of our new live capture features and social media publishing, Imagen has established itself as the industry’s most complete media portal – providing the central hub for any organisation’s media services. Imagen extracts the greatest value from our clients’ media by allowing them to distribute live or archived content in the fastest time possible – delivering even more choice and a premium service for partners and broadcasters as well as audiences eager for new content on social media.”
