Input Media serves up Media Hub for Australian Open
The new tennis year, which has commenced with the Australia Open from Melbourne Park, is on us already, and following a competitive tender process, Input Media and Gearhouse Broadcast have been commissioned by Tennis Australia to provide a fully integrated Media Hub for the grand slam event.
As official production partners, Input and Gearhouse’s responsibilities involve delivery of two daily highlights shows for international distribution, coverage of press conferences and player interviews for Tennis Australia, features and viral content for the internet, big screen production, storage of a digital archive for 2012, plus a 52 minute Official Film of the 2012 tournament.
“Input Media’s proven reputation as a high-‐performing and multi-‐faceted production partner in elite level international sports was a major attraction,” Tennis Australia CEO, Steve Wood explained. “We are excited to be partnering with them.”
Neil Oughton, Managing Director of Input Media, said: “This is an exciting new piece of work for Input Media. Tennis Australia has recognised our tennis credentials, and we are delighted to be working with them on such a prestigious event. Continuing on from our experience with other grand slam events we have incorporated our ethic of a tapeless workflow environment within the production hub to deliver Tennis Australia a bespoke service for their requirements.”
Input Media celebrates its 25th Anniversary in 2012, and its tennis production also includes provision of the International Super Signal for the French Open from Roland Garros, host broadcasting of the year end TEB-BNP Paribas WTA Championships from Istanbul, and highlights shows for the ITF Davis Cup and Fed Cup tournaments.
