iStreamPlanet demos Aventus live video encoding, multiscreen packaging service
iStreamPlanet announced the company is demonstrating new features in the Aventus service at IBC 2014. Upgrades to the service are focused on supporting top line revenue opportunities and the bottom line value of the service for content owners and providers looking for live, multiscreen video solutions.
Better Support for Multiscreen Monetization
New Aventus multiscreen advertising features include first to market support for Nielsen audience tracking. Aventus customers using Nielsen’s audience tracking for traditional broadcast now have a way to track live video on mobile devices. Aventus has also enhanced its support for manual ad and slate insertion, critical for providing live national and local ad replacement during live sporting events with unpredictable ad breaks.
Improved Insights Improve the End Viewer Experience
New, real-time telemetry provides Aventus users the ability to pinpoint issues in the live workflow. Aventus’ telemetry exposes complete workflow data in real-time, providing deep insights into ingest, packaging, encryption and publishing, uncovering disruptions in the workflow before they can impact the viewer experience.
“The Aventus service is continually evolving to keep up with rapidly changing technologies and standards across the live multiscreen video workflow,” said Mark VanAntwerp, vice president of software engineering for iStreamPlanet. “iStreamPlanet’s engineering and operations teams are working around the clock to anticipate and solve technical and operational challenges while providing broadcast level reliability allowing our customers to focus on their core business.”
Demand for all content on all devices is driving content owners and aggregators to evaluate the capabilities of their current live encoding and packaging solutions in meeting changing technology and business requirements and overcoming operational challenges. A new Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) framework and analysis from Frost and Sullivan finds that cloud-based services such as Aventus provide a critical time to market advantage, enabling content owners and distributors to take advantage of new technology to optimize for market opportunities and changing business models. The TCO report will be available for download at www.iStreamPlanet.com.
iStreamPlanet will be demonstrating Aventus at IBC 2014 in Amsterdam, at the Okura Hotel in the Sakura Room. More information on Aventus and the newly released features can be found at www.iStreamPlanet.com/Aventus.
