ITV secures three-year deal to show PBC boxing

ITV has agreed a deal with Haymon Sports and Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) that will see the commercial broadcaster show exclusive coverage of PBC boxing events for the next three years.

The agreement will guarantee a minimum of 15 televised events each year, drawing from PBC’s stable of 160 boxers. Matches will be staged both in the UK and the US.

PBC is broadcast over cable and network television in the US.

Niall Sloane, ITV director of sport described the deal as being “unprecedented”.

“It is great news for boxing fans in the UK. We look forward to bringing viewers big events and superb action from some of the world’s best fighters in the coming years,” she aid .

Fights will be shown across ITV’s channels, including the main ITV channel and ITV4 as well as via the ITV Hub. Some fights will also be made available as pay per views events ITV Box Office.

Tim Smith, vice president of communications for Haymon Boxing added: “The unique collaboration means ITV’s viewers are in for a special treat with PBC’s world class boxing events.’’

The first fights to be shown as part of the deal are to be announced shortly.
