Live Media Group acquires Gravity Media’s US mobile production fleet

Live Media Group has acquired Gravity Media’s US mobile production assets, adding eight mobile production units – including three production trucks that carry existing major broadcast contracts – to its nationwide fleet. The transaction also brings engineering and technical staff to the company.

As part of the agreement, the two companies have established a partnership to collaborate on projects that require both mobile production facilities and services. Live Media Group takes ownership and operation of Gravity Media’s US-based outside broadcast (OB) truck fleet, while Gravity Media continues to support projects through its RF technology and other services.

The acquisition gives Live Media Group’s operating companies – TNDV Television, Live Media and GameTime Productions – access to additional specialty cameras, production equipment, production services and engineering resources.

The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Live Media Group. Since acquiring SureShot Teleproductions in 2015, the company has added TNDV Television and HARB Production Services in 2019, Lyon Video in 2022, and now Gravity Media’s US mobile production assets.

“Every acquisition we’ve made has been driven by one objective: creating more opportunities to better serve our clients,” said Brad Sexton, founder, president and chief executive of Live Media Group. “We’ve never pursued growth simply to become bigger. We’ve focused on bringing together exceptional companies, talented people and complementary capabilities that allow us to deliver more strategic value across the country. This acquisition continues that strategy by expanding our fleet, adding experienced engineering talent and giving us additional resources to meet growing client demand.”

The three flagship production units arrive with existing contracts supporting US broadcast partners and professional events, while all eight units extend the company’s ability to support sports, entertainment, corporate and live event productions.

“Historically, our mobile units have been fully committed most of the year,” said Michael Sullivan, president of Live Media. “These additional assets immediately provide us with greater scheduling flexibility while allowing us to support more clients without compromising the level of service they’ve come to expect. Rather than turning opportunities away, we’re now positioned to say yes to more productions.”

Under the partnership, clients requiring RF and other services can draw on Gravity Media’s RF technology, while Gravity Media’s international customers needing mobile production support in the US will be served through Live Media Group’s expanded fleet.

“This strengthens our ability to scale, expand capabilities, and better support clients across every major market we operate in,” said Jonae Taylor, senior vice-president of sales at Live Media Group. “Alongside additions to our mobile fleet, this partnership also expands what we can offer across RF, specialty cameras, and flypacks for both international and domestic clients.”

The agreement allows Gravity Media to sharpen its focus on production and content, media services and facilities, while continuing to deliver OB services in the US through Live Media Group, particularly for international events hosted in the country. Both companies said they were working to ensure a coordinated transition of the fleet, with uninterrupted service for customers.

“The United States remains a critically important market for us,” said Jamie Hindhaugh, regional chief executive at Gravity Media. “By partnering with Live Media Group, we are combining complementary strengths to deliver even greater value to our customers. We are excited about what this partnership makes possible and look forward to everything we will build together.”

Live Media Group, founded in 2008, operates a fleet of more than 30 mobile production units across sports, entertainment, music, corporate and faith-based broadcasting through three divisions: Live Media, based in Columbus, Ohio; TNDV Television, based in Nashville; and GameTime Productions. Gravity Media operates in 37 locations across 10 countries and provides outside broadcast, studios, live and remote production, post production, cloud-based workflows and specialist camera technologies.
