Marquis Broadcast announces new MD

Marquis Broadcast has announced the appointment of Chris Steele as managing director. Steele joins the company from Quantel and takes over from Peter Davies, who will step up to become chairman of Marquis Broadcast.

“I have a great deal of respect for the skills and experience of the team at Marquis and I am looking forward to developing a long term vision for the company,” confirms Steele.  “There will be many opportunities as we move into the brave new world of IP production and Marquis is well placed to supply the necessary solutions to help integrate the multi-vendor streaming workflows of the modern broadcast world.”

Chris Steele has a wealth of experience, starting out in live broadcast at ITN. He has worked in various organisations including Digital Vision AB and The Foundry, in addition to eight years as co-founder and director at Parallax Software Ltd. He also spent time as director at OMG plc where he started the company 2D3 and took Boujou, the world’s first automated camera tracker, to market. Boujou subsequently won an Emmy. He returns to Marquis after 15 months as senior product manager at Quantel.

“Chris Steele’s appointment is part of a package of investment into Marquis which is designed to support our channel and enable the business to continue expanding,” confirms Peter Davies. “We are delighted to welcome Chris back. With his background in the original design of some of our leading solutions, including Project Parking and X2Pro, he is the ideal fit to help take Marquis to the next level by addressing and taking advantage of existing and future sector trends.”
