Megahertz acquires generator specialist Cinebuild
Megahertz has acquired the trade and assets of systems integrator and generator specialist Cinebuild. Founded in 1971, Cinebuild established a reputation for providing solid installation, service and support to the professional owners of fixed and mobile generators. Generator servicing has always been a crucial part of Megahertz’s offering, as power generation can be a single point of failure.
Cinebuild’s Generator Power for Location Filming assets will be integrated into Megahertz’s broadcast vehicle servicing provision and the company’s existing client base will continue to be supported under the Megahertz umbrella.
“The acquisition of Cinebuild strengthens our support offering for our existing broadcast clients and will expand our customer base to include other professional users of generators in other industries such as marine, surveillance, military, emergency response, mobile homes and equestrian”, commented Steve Burgess, CTO of Megahertz. “The expansion means that Megahertz now has dedicated and experienced mobile service technician capabilities, with a base just south of London.”
Megahertz will maintain a large spares stock of Cinebuild products, along with spare generator sets that can be loaned out whilst a client’s set is being serviced or repaired.
“With the UK General Election less than a month away, the addition of Cinebuild to the Megahertz portfolio can help broadcasters ensure their news gathering fleet is ready to cope with the increased demand it will face during the long days of election campaigning and on the day itself, with quick turnarounds guaranteed for all service work including generator servicing,” concluded Burgess.
Megahertz also becomes Fischer Panda’s official service partner for the Greater London area and is able to offer service and support on these and any other on-board or towable generators. Megahertz will also retain an existing Honda generator dealership secured by Cinebuild prior to this acquisition.
