MPTS 2025: RED Digital Cinema’s Cine-Broadcast solution with EVS integration to debut

RED Digital Cinema will showcase its RED Cine-Broadcast solution during the Media Production & Technology Show this week, introducing the UK broadcast and live production community to this technology for the first time.

“Our RED Cine-Broadcast solution is a significant advancement in creative flexibility for the industry,” said Jeff Goodman, vice president of product management, RED Digital Cinema. “It allows broadcasters to elevate the visual experience by introducing large-format, cinematic storytelling into the world of live content, without compromising on speed, reliability, or standards compliance. It works seamlessly within traditional broadcast ecosystems, while adding a myriad of highly advanced IP-based solutions all within the same product.”

RED’s Cine-Broadcast module, designed to bring filmic, full-frame imagery to live broadcast workflows, enables 8K live cinematic streaming, compliant with SMPTE ST 2110 standards, and unlocks 3x and 4x super slow-motion capabilities, ideal for high-end sports, entertainment, and live event production. The RED Cine-Broadcast Module has most recently been deployed on events broadcast by CBS Sports and NBC Sports Group.

MPTS attendees will have the opportunity to see RED’s integration with EVS’ XT-VIA live production server, which allows broadcasters to enhance their workflows with up to 4x super-slow-motion at 4K and 8x at 1080p, while simultaneously delivering two baseband channels through the RED Cine-Broadcast module. This capability is powered by RED’s licence-enabled RED Connect feature, which enables IP live streaming of R3Ds and unlocks advanced workflows, including real-time AI/ML augmentation and live-to-headset using 8K 120fps R3Ds.
