NAB 2019: Blackmagic Design Intros 8K Broadcast Deck, Switcher, Monitor

Blackmagic Design (Booth SL216) is showcasing a new range of 8K products offering advanced features whether working in HD, Ultra HD, or 8K. Designed to be future-proof, the new 8K products are the HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR, ATEM Constellation 8K production switcher, and Taranex Mini SDI-to-HDMI 8K HDR. Also new are the Blackmagic MultiDock 10G, Dante Resolve Editor Keyboard, and Blackmagic Pocket Camera Battery Grip. In addition, the company is featuring upgrades to DaVinci Resolve 16 and Fusion 16 Studio.

HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR

The HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR is broadcast deck with advanced H.265 8K recording combined with touchscreen user interface and traditional broadcast deck controls. It can record more than eight hours of 8K footage on a single 1-TB CFast disk. It will be available for $4,995 in June.

The ATEM Constellation 8K, a high-end live-production switcher with 8K capability, lets customers create content for the next generation of the television industry. Features include 4M/E, 40x12G-SDI inputs, 24x12G-SDI aux outputs, 4 DVEs, 16 keyers, four media players, four multiviewers, 2 SuperSource, and standards conversion on each of the 40 SDI inputs. It is available now for $9,995.

Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 8K HDR is an advanced 8K monitoring solution for large-screen televisions and video projectors, suitable film studios and broadcasters needing professional but affordable color-accurate monitoring. It will be available in May for $1,295.

DaVinci Resolve 16

The update to DaVinci Resolve 16 introduces a new way to edit: the revolutionary new dual-timeline cut page is specifically designed for fast-turnaround editing. A public beta version is available for free download from the Blackmagic Design website.

Fusion 16 Studio brings improvements made to Fusion inside of DaVinci Resolve to the standalone version. A public beta of Fusion 16 Studio is available for free download today from the Blackmagic Design website.

Blackmagic MultiDock 10G rack-mount USB-C disk dock lets customers access and move SSD media disks between cameras, HyperDecks, and computers by rapid docking. It will be available in June for $595.

The DaVinci Resolve Editor Keyboard is a premium, all-metal, USB-C keyboard with integrated jog control to help professional editors work faster without the need for a mouse. It will be available in August for $995.

The Blackmagic carbon-fiber non-slip hand grip houses two rechargeable L-series batteries to extend Pocket Cinema Camera 4K recording time to more than two hours. It will be available in August for $245.
