NAB 2019: SAT>IP Alliance Updates Attendees on the Future of Multiscreen Satellite TV
The SAT>IP Alliance, a global consortium of satellite operators, device manufacturers, broadcasters, and service providers, will be updating attendees on the capabilities of SAT>IP across the exhibition floor at NAB Show 2019:
- Eutelsat (Booth SU1320)
- Hispasat (Booth SU7825)
- Irdeto (Booth S217LMR)
- NAGRA (Booth SU3624)
- Panasonic (Booths C3607, N210LMR, SL5616)
- SES (Booth SU1410)
- Verimatrix (Booth SU3110)
The SAT>IP Alliance brings together members including Arcadyan, Eutelsat, HISPASAT, Irdeto, MaxLinear, NAGRA, Panasonic, SES, Verimatrix, and Zinwell. The group supports the use of SAT>IP technology as a way for satellite TV providers to deliver content to any TV screen, smartphone, games console, or tablet in the home. SAT>IP enables a totally seamless multi-screen TV experience without using a home broadband connection. This reduces operator costs and enables advanced, multi-screen consumer services – even in locations where broadband is not reliable enough to handle live, high-definition video.
“NAB is the perfect place for satellite service providers to hear about how the SAT>IP protocol can help deliver next generation, innovative multi-screen experiences that will strongly differentiate them from competitors,” says Thomas Wrede, President of the SAT>IP Alliance.
SAT>IP is currently supported by satellites covering 95% of the globe, reaching over a billion viewers and over 40 manufacturers and technology companies.
