NAB 2019: Teradek Launches Next-Gen Wireless Lens-Control Devices
Teradek (Booth C5725) has unveiled its much-anticipated next-generation ecosystem for Teradek RT wireless lens control, debuting two devices and an iOS app. CTRL.3, a three-axis controller, and MDR.X, a compact three-axis smart receiver, join the company’s other recent innovations in this space: the MOTR.X superspeed cine motor and the CTRL.1 single-axis hand controller.
The CTRL.3 controller offers precision lens mapping, allowing users to store and recall lens maps and display the information in real-time on SmallHD monitors. This is an exclusive integration for Teradek RT and is available on all of the latest SmallHD monitors running OS3.
“We’ve built a totally new lens-control platform from the ground up,” said Greg Smokler, VP, products, Teradek. “These new tools are truly cutting-edge, but what really sets them apart are their unique integrations: the SmallHD video overlays, camera control with RED, and a versatile iOS app.”
Integrated Bluetooth adds additional connectivity between the CTRL.3 and MDR.X or MDR.ACI receivers, allowing sharing of lens-mapping information as well as rapid configuration with the new free RT iOS application.
MDR.X is a full-featured yet remarkably small and lightweight three-channel receiver that is camera-agnostic. Featuring integrated Bluetooth and a built-in OLED display, the MDR.X allows quick configuration and real-time status updates.
Both the CTRL.3 and MDR.X are compatible with previous generation Latitude and MK3.1 RT products, making it simple to integrate into any existing RT workflow. Like the Latitude line of RT products, the MDR.X offers RED camera control integration via Foolcontrol.
Teradek is offering an Upgrade Program for owners of all current generation RT products. For more information, visit http://tdek.co/rtupgrade.
Teradek RT CTRL.3 ($3499.95) and MDR.X ($1499.95) will begin shipping in May.
