NAB 2026: Chyron marks 60 years with innovations in live production

Chyron is celebrating its 60th anniversary and introducing new innovations in live video production at the NAB Show, April 19–22, 2026, at booth N2441 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Visitors to the Chyron booth can explore the latest features across the company’s core portfolio for graphics and virtual set creation, specialty tools for sports analysis, monetization, and venue display control, as well as advancements in efficient newsroom workflows.

With customer-centricity as a core value, Chyron is focused on meeting customers where they are today. Attendees can view real-world examples from major sports events, OTT and regional sports networks, and both national and regional news outlets, demonstrating how Chyron innovations can improve efficiency, audience engagement, and return on investment.

This customer-first approach also extends into the future. Chyron continues to invest in solutions that evolve with customer needs. Key themes include flexible cloud workflows that lower costs, AI-driven efficiencies, HTML graphics, cross-platform data management, and unified product access.

Graphics and Virtual Sets

PRIME Platform
The PRIME Platform is Chyron’s modern graphics system and the natural evolution of the character generator. Beyond traditional text and overlays, PRIME enables the creation and playout of graphics, clips, video walls, and branding content, while supporting other Chyron applications.

Since the previous NAB Show, PRIME has introduced several major updates, including expanded newsroom access to template editing, synchronization of multiple PRIME engines for large video displays, and additional features that improve efficiency across the Chyron ecosystem.

Chyron graphics systems have long been recognized for robust playout capabilities and customizable control panels. Building on this, control panels are now available within newsroom computer system workstations through the CAMIO LUCI plugin. These LUCI Control Panels expand access to high-quality template modifications within MOS workflows, allowing designers to provide flexible editing options while maintaining brand consistency. This reduces the need for custom templates and increases efficiency across production teams.

PRIME also enhances large-scale display workflows through its new MultiSystem Sync feature, enabling operators to trigger multiple systems simultaneously with a single action, reducing operational complexity and minimizing the risk of human error during live productions.

Additional updates include upcoming support for importing PRIME templates into AXIS, enabling remote updates and integration with stock imagery for real-time storytelling. The new Prime Audio Clips (.pac files) feature streamlines audio workflows with a simplified import, drag-and-drop, and playout process.

TOOLBOX
Toolbox is a versatile desktop-based production solution that allows users to capture, customize, and broadcast content directly from a computer. It supports SDI and NDI connectivity, screen and application capture via the Grabber module, and clip playback through the VLC Player module. Toolbox can also convert SDI and NDI inputs into webcam signals for professional remote production workflows.

Reintroduced in 2025, Toolbox has been updated for NAB 2026 with a modernized Windows 11-based platform, a compact 1 RU chassis, and improved performance. It now supports full HD 1080p50/59.94 output over NDI/SDI and features an enhanced Grabber interface for faster setup and smoother operation.

PRIME VSAR
Virtual sets remain a key component of modern broadcasts, particularly for remote productions, elections coverage, and flexible studio environments. PRIME VSAR enables seamless playout of Unreal Engine-based virtual environments, either manually or through NRCS rundowns.

At NAB 2026, Chyron is showcasing VSAR version 2.3, compatible with Unreal Engine 5.6. This update improves scalability, performance, and integration within the Unreal ecosystem. Additional enhancements include lens file compatibility for improved realism, faster setup through calibration libraries, and improved internal compositing for higher-quality output.

Sports Analysis

PAINT
Chyron PAINT, a leading multisport replay and telestration system, introduces new capabilities in its 2026 release, including expanded IP workflows, enhanced calibration for basketball coverage, improved American football tracking, and advanced telestration tools. Data-linked graphics and NFL Next Gen Stats integration enable real-time player tracking and more precise data alignment.

VIRTUAL PLACEMENT
Virtual Placement enables the insertion of virtual graphics into live broadcasts and in-venue displays, including field markings, player indicators, and sponsor branding. Updates at NAB include improved chroma-keying options, performance enhancements for multi-input workflows, and a new fail-safe system that ensures correct calibration by detecting the active camera feed.

ZXY Tracking
ZXY Tracking uses GNSS-based satellite tracking and real-time communications to deliver precise positional data for live events such as horse racing and motorsports. New features include automated PTZ camera control and event-based triggers, enabling cameras to respond dynamically to race conditions and key moments.

Venue Production Control

Click Effects
Click Effects provides a centralized interface for controlling and synchronizing video, graphics, audio, and in-venue effects such as lighting and pyrotechnics. At NAB 2026, Chyron is demonstrating a modernized version of Click Effects, highlighting its integration with PRIME and its role in contemporary venue production workflows.

News and Weather Live Production

CAMIO
CAMIO integrates PRIME graphics into newsroom workflows, allowing journalists and producers to create and manage graphics directly within NRCS systems. New features in the LUCI plugin include enhanced control panels, improved workspace customization, AI-powered image tagging, and ChyAI Assist.

The LUCI Crop Tool (beta) enables automatic headshot centering and scaling, reducing manual adjustments. A redesigned user interface improves usability with larger previews, better organization, and more accessible template information. AI tools further streamline workflows by improving image search and suggesting text for templates.

AXIS
AXIS is Chyron’s cloud-based graphics creation and management system. The updated AXIS Maps 2.0 introduces improved visual consistency, enhanced styling tools, and faster production workflows. Upcoming features include immersive 4K animations and greater flexibility in map storytelling. Integration with PRIME templates will further streamline newsroom workflows.

NEWSTICKER
NewsTicker provides comprehensive control over ticker and branding content, supporting a wide range of data types. Recent updates include a modern HTML5 interface, improved content management tools, and a unified dashboard architecture that supports flexible deployment options and future integrations.

CHYRON WEATHER
Chyron Weather delivers advanced weather visualization tools, including 3D mapping, global analysis, and live presentation capabilities. New features at NAB include the Virtual Globe Playlist, customizable shortcuts, and Dual-DVI outputs for improved workflow efficiency and preview capabilities.

All-In-One Cloud-Native Production

CHYRON LIVE
Chyron LIVE is a cloud-native production platform built on AWS, enabling remote and distributed teams to produce live content through a web browser. Features include live switching, audio control, graphics playout, remote guest integration, and AI-driven replay tools.

At NAB 2026, Chyron LIVE is being demonstrated with partner workflows and new features such as SCTE-35 ad insertion, enhanced switching tools, simplified replay management, and improved transition controls.

Additional Booth Highlights

The Chyron booth will feature an expanded green screen demonstration area and an LED wall setup showcasing parallax effects. Visitors can experience interactive environments, including a recreated 1966 news studio in celebration of the company’s 60th anniversary. Two mini-museum areas will also highlight Chyron’s history, offering visitors a chance to explore past innovations alongside the latest developments.
