NovelSat donates satellite communication equipment to aid in Nepal earthquake relief

In response to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25, NovelSat, a world leader in satellite transmission technology, has joined in the relief effort. NovelSat has donated a number of NovelSat NS3000 Professional Satellite Modems to an Asian-based satellite teleport and solutions integrator which is providing communications infrastructure at the scene of the quake relief effort.

NovelSat delivered the satellite modems to their Asian partner with all efficiency and resiliency features enabled to ensure mission critical voice and data communication under difficult circumstances. They were deployed as part of mobile communications centres at the quake scene to help replace destroyed and damaged terrestrial communications infrastructure, and to aid in the immediate task of coordination of the rescue and aid effort.

“The devastation in Nepal is heartbreaking,” said NovelSat CEO Itzik Wulkan. “We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to donate needed tools like NS3000 satellite modems that are helping save lives by improving communication at the scene of the quake.”
