Ostmodern appoints Sky’s David Crawford as COO

OTT and video specialist Ostmodern has hired former Sky and Camelot Global leader David Crawford as Chief Operating Officer. With more than 25 years’ experience overseeing technology innovation for some of the UK’s biggest brands, Crawford will drive strategic growth for Ostmodern as it expands its technology and custom-built solutions portfolio.

Crawford joins Ostmodern from Camelot Global, where he served as Interim Chief Technology Officer, leading the design, delivery and operations of gaming products and solutions for lotteries around the world.  Prior to Camelot, Crawford headed up Sky’s Software Engineering team, and was responsible for implementing a digital-first programme to ramp up online sales and services.

“I’m excited to be joining Ostmodern at such a key time in the company’s history,” commented Crawford. “Ostmodern’s design-led approach to video products makes it one of the most bold and innovative companies to work for, and I’m looking forward to helping it grow.”

Crawford’s appointment is the latest strategic hire for Ostmodern, which appointed Commercial Director, Stuart Ferreira-Cole, and Head of Sports Partnerships, Heather Taylor in 2017. The team growth follows a highly successful year for the company, with it building its presence in the US markets and winning a number of major contracts on both sides of the Atlantic.

“We’re honoured to have David Crawford join the team,” added Tom Williams, CEO and co-founder, Ostmodern. “David has a wealth of experience leading teams, developing innovative technologies and driving business growth, and we’re delighted to be working with him to expand Ostmodern’s offering.”
