Panasonic to unveil four new 4K60p 10-bit professional camcorders

Panasonic is set to release four new 4K professional camcorders: the AG-CX20, AG-CX18, HC-X1600 and HC-X1200. Both the AG-CX20 and AG-CX18 come with a removable handle unit, while the HC-X1600 is compatible with a separately sold handle unit.

The 4K60p 10-bit camcorders combine a compact and lightweight body with optical performance featuring a 25mm wide-angle and 24x optical zoom. This series has been well received by directors who record with one-person operations and where high mobility and image quality performance are required.

For the latest models, Panasonic has incorporated improvements based on feedback received to make them useful for a wider range of productions.

This includes a high-resolution OLED viewfinder with 1,770K dots and larger eyecups, an updated USB-C port, which can also feed power to the camcorder, the addition of low bitrate recording mode (firmware support), and improved low-speed zoom.

The high-end AG-CX20/AG-CX18 models will support FHD live streaming through WiFi and Ethernet. In addition, the AG-CX20 will support the SRT protocol for high-quality, low-latency streaming. From a system standpoint, the AG-CX20/AG-CX18 are equipped with 3G-SDI and support simultaneous output with HDMI. The AG-CX20 also provides NDI HX2-compliant IP connectivity for smooth live streaming in a network environment.
