Racing.com develops new features with Linius Technologies

Racing, com has unveiled a range of new features for its digital platform to complement its field & form information, expert tips and editorial content, for fans to enjoy during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

The new features, developed with Australian technology company Linius Technologies, are designed to ensure punters following all the horse racing action on Racing.com will enjoy an improved digital experience when it comes to watching race replays and other curated video content.

Matt Hill, head of product & vision at Racing.com, commented: “Racing.com’s partnership with Linius continues to build on the success of the initial version of the replay hub, launched in spring 2019, which has been a popular video form guide tool.

“The further investment in Linius Technology has helped give us the opportunity to provide an even better user experience ahead of the biggest event on the Australian thoroughbred racing calendar.”

Chris Richardson, chief executive officer at Linius Technologies, added: “This is a great example of a multi-platform media company really taking advantage of our technology and continuing to invest in new solutions for deeper integration into their platform.

“Data-driven assembly is a must for any progressive media business today, and Racing.com has been one of the first globally to embrace that.”

Racing.com embraced the customisation & flexibility that Linius technology offers, with the development of innovative video features. These features include:

  • The replay hub – A key component of the Racing.com digital platform, it is a destination where users can watch curated playlists, which are updated on a daily basis. It also provides punters with a valuable research interface, used to help inform their betting decisions, by allowing Racing.com’s extensive archive of race & trial replays to be freely searched by horse, track and other form guide data filters.
  • The tipping hub – A destination where the team’s form analysts publish tips, the latest updates to the website & mobile app now mean instant “last start” replays with infographic bumpers for selected horses can be watched, back-to-back, at the click of a button.
  • Field and form- The core field and form areas of Racing.com’s website and app have been developed further using Linius technology to integrate “runner-by-runner” videos for each race and video previews/analysis for feature races.
  • Editorial Suite – Racing.com’s digital media team now has access to enhanced production software with the Linius-powered Editorial Suite, making it easy to instantly splice and assemble new video content using racing vision, interviews, program highlights and any other content produced by the broadcast team.

These changes will provide users with a range of new video content, including dynamically generated playlists with contextual infographics and videos recommended by Racing.com analysts, as well as a compelling platform to help generate incremental revenue via advertising & sponsorship integration.
