Red Bull Batalla Finals: First multi-channel Dolby Atmos remote production over public internet with TVU Networks
The Red Bull Batalla World Final 2024 used TVU Networks’ technology to deliver the first multi-channel Dolby Atmos live mix over public internet.
The workflow combined advanced audio precision, AI tools, and low-latency synchronisation to provide an immersive experience for viewers around the world.
The freestyle rap competition at the WiZink Center in Madrid featured a complex live production featuring advanced audio and video synchronization with low latency—all over public internet and at a fraction of the cost of traditional setups, TVU Networks said.

This collaboration is allowing us to produce more high-quality live events remotely, aligning innovation with environmental responsibility.”
At the heart of the setup were two TVU RPS One units, each equipped with four SDI connections, with each SDI input capable of transmitting up to 16 audio channels. This capability enabled precision critical to an event of this scale, TVU said.
It included support for up to 128 audio channels and “seamless” integration with Dolby Atmos production.
Using TVU RPS One, Red Bull transmitted audio and video from the event in Madrid to a remote production and mixing room in Salzburg, Austria, enabling the creation of a Dolby Atmos mix.
This advanced multi-channel audio workflow enabled fans to experience every detail—from the intensity of the battles to the roar of the crowd—with “unparalleled clarity and depth” on Red Bull TV.
Using TVU Search, an AI-powered cloud-based tool, the team enhanced fan engagement and streamlined workflows. Advanced AI transcription converted freestyle lyrics into text in real time, while facial recognition technology tagged performers, creating a synchronised database of visuals and metadata. This enabled rapid documentation of battles and aided content repurposing and fan interaction.
