Ross Video intros new Furio Pedestal for robotic camera systems
Ross Video will introduce a new addition to the Furio line of robotic camera systems. The new Furio Pedestal combines an ultra-stable three-wheeled pedestal base with the well-established Furio 3-stage robotic lift, and can be seen at Ross Stand 9.C10.
“Just as the Furio Robo delivers industry-leading performance when it comes to track-based on-air movements, the new Furio Pedestal provides a superior experience in a manually-driven base for robotic camera systems,” says Bruce Takasaki, Marketing Product Manager for Ross Robotics. “With a wide stable base, large, double-wheeled casters, and integrated handwheel, the Furio Pedestal can be easily and safely maneuvered around the set, gliding effortlessly across virtually any studio floor. The low centre of gravity, integrated cable guards and dual locking casters ensure that the Pedestal is always stable — whether in motion, or locked in position.”
The Furio Pedestal supports both the Furio VR1 and VR600 high performance pan/tilt heads. This system provides a lower cost alternative for users who don’t need on-air floor movements, but still require fully robotic remote control of pan, tilt, elevation, zoom, and focus. As the new pedestal is fully compatible with the existing Furio control systems, lifts, and VR-1/VR600 heads, it can be easily retrofitted into existing installations, and share common spare parts with other Furio lifts and heads.
“The Furio Robo system has always been oriented towards virtual studios or augmented reality applications, and with its rock-solid stability and repeatability, the Furio pedestal is a great addition to the Ross Video lineup of complete end-to-end virtual solutions,” adds Dave Larson, General Manager for Ross Virtual Solutions.
The Furio Pedestal comes in two convenient packages that include either a VR600 or VR-1 pan/tilt head, and all necessary accessories. It’s also available as an upgrade option to the full lineup of Ross Virtual Solutions packages, while the pedestal base can be purchased as an add-on to installations where it can be paired with an existing lift and head. Like all Furio systems, it requires at least one control station per studio running the intuitive and powerful SmartShell control software.
