Signiant facilitates EBU FEP platform for exchange of sports, other content

Data exchange and movement specialist Signiant has announced that it is powering the EBU and its EuroVision News Exchange group’s new File Exchange Platform (FEP).

The deployment sees Signiant’s Managers + Agents automation workflow serving as the centrepiece of a new file-based automated news workflow sharing system serving some 200 locations of the 72 EBU members.

The File Exchange Platform (FEP) is said to represent a move away from linear satellite deliveries of content between members to a smarter, more efficient file-based approach for news content sharing.

A Signiant source remarks: “Now when there’s breaking news in Europe and EBU members want to exchange feeds, about sports events or whatever, Signiant will be delivering the content at extreme speeds, far faster and without the constraints imposed by linear transmission systems.”
