Six LPGA golf tournaments to air on Eleven Sports

Eleven Sports has added six tournaments from the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour to its live rights portfolio in the UK and Ireland.

The agreement includes the Indy Women in Tech Championship and Cambia Portland Classic in the US, the CP Women’s Open in Canada and the Buick LPGA Shanghai and Blue Bay LPGA in China.

The OTT broadcaster will also show Golfing World, a magazine show that includes golf news, tournament updates, tips from leading players and coaches and destination reports from the courses.

Marc Watson, executive chairman and group chief executive of Eleven Sports said: “The LPGA Tour is hugely competitive and very high quality. It was fantastic to see Georgia Hall winning the Women’s British Open last week and golf fans across the country will be able to catch her in action on Eleven Sports.”

Eleven Sports launched in the UK and Ireland on 9 August with coverage of the PGA Championship.

The company has also secured the live rights to top-flight domestic football from the Eredivisie (Netherlands), the Chinese Super League and Allsvenskan (Sweden) as well Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s Serie A.

Eleven is producing coverage together with IMG, which is a minority stakeholder in the channels, from its Stockley Park HQ.
