Stagetec appoints new distributor for major South East Asian countries

Merging Technologies has announced that from 1 October 2013, Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup Sdn Bhd (Stagetec Asia) has been appointed the distributor for Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. Stagetec Asia has a portfolio of complementary brands that is ideal for presenting complete solutions to the market. The company is a significant supplier to the broadcast and recording markets and has an excellent presence in the live and installed sectors. This profile fits the Merging product range very well and mirrors the changing product mix coming from the famous Swiss brand.

The appointment is the latest in a number of changes being made to Merging’s worldwide distribution in a quest to find young, dynamic companies that have sales and marketing ability and sufficient technical resource to satisfy demanding customers in rapidly growing markets. The timing is perfect now that Horus is firmly established as the most versatile networked audio converter available and the recent addition of the Oasis control of Pyramix and Ovation from Stagetec consoles allows for even better integration. For the post production community, Iris and VCube provide an extremely comprehensive but reasonably priced complete solution when combined with Pyramix 8.1.

Merging’s sales and marketing manager, Chris Hollebone, remarks: “Stagetec Asia came highly recommended and the first time I met David Chan and his team, I was extremely impressed with how they presented themselves and their brands. Having now spent more time together, I know the choice is right.”

David Chan, managing director of Stagetec Asia, adds: “Merging is a highly respected brand but not that well-known in this region so we know we have some work to do to regain its rightful position. However, we spent some time with the Merging team at IBC and I am fully confident that working together, we can build a solid business here. The products are very exciting.”
