SVG Europe welcomes Sony Professional Services Europe as Platinum Sponsor

SVG Europe is pleased to announce that Sony Professional Services Europe has joined the organisation as a Platinum Sponsor. A division of Sony Europe, the company designs, installs and supports fully integrated solutions for the capture, storage and distribution of audiovisual assets, and was recently intimately involved in the high-profile project to capture the final matches of the Wimbledon fortnight in 3D.

Unsurprisingly it is also closely involved with many areas that directly impact on sports broadcasting. Here are some of them:

Outside Broadcast

Built to handle the most demanding live events, Sony’s OB vehicles can accommodate most budgets and can house camera ranges of between 4-30 units. In response to high demand for Outside Broadcast vehicles, Professional Services operates a dedicated OB team of design and implementation staff. This specialist team have vast knowledge and experience of OB design and operation to provide customers with innovative and proven solutions, in product and vehicle design.

3D Production
Sony’s 3D production solutions work transparently for engineers, directors and producers, letting them use their existing skills while they learn their 3D craft. Retaining existing efficient workflows, Sony can upgrade studios and outside broadcast facilities to 3D, making 3D production as natural as working with conventional video.

As witnessed at Wimbledon, Sony’s portfolio of live production 3D equipment covers the whole production chain. Other high-profile recent events that SPSE has worked on include last year’s World Cup and Ryder Cup.

Sports & Entertainment
Sony’s consultancy and project management services create sophisticated, efficient workflows where crucial moments are captured, packaged and then distributed to selected screens across your venue – in Full HD broadcast quality.

The right content always goes to the right audience: replays of the latest goals to giant LED screens, and detailed match analysis to VIP boxes and queuing areas. And with the growth of smartphones and personal wireless media platforms like the PSP, Sony’s ready to deliver content anywhere.

For the first time, network video security systems and digital signage can work together to provide a safe and secure environment for your visitors – guiding them to the shortest queues for food and drink concessions, or simply to their nearest exit.

Even though creating the perfect image is Sony’s forte, its proven venue solutions also branch out beyond video. These include access control, cashless payment technology and a host of other IT capabilities, all of which make it easy to realise the full commercial potential of your venue events.
