TSL welcomes Gary Heelas as principal engineer

TSL has appointed Gary Heelas as principal engineer. He joins the team at TSL’s UK office, bringing over three decades of experience in high-level electronics design, having led significant projects at Evertz and PerkinElmer.

Heelas’ appointment marks a strategic enhancement in TSL’s commitment to continue to focus on UK and US designed and manufactured solutions. With his extensive experience, including pioneering work on HD routing and control systems, he is set to play a pivotal role in TSL’s ongoing innovation drive.

At PerkinElmer, Heelas led the electronics and firmware teams, focusing on the development of advanced infrared and ultraviolet spectrometers and thermal analysis instruments. His career also highlights substantial contributions at Evertz, where he introduced high-definition video technologies to the company’s product line, greatly advancing its market offering.

In addition to his professional expertise, Heelas is deeply engaged in the preservation of British engineering heritage through his work with the 125 Group, which he founded.
