TV NOVA on air with Aveco in Czech Republic

TV NOVA, the channel broadcast by CET21 (a member of the European CME group), and the first privately held nationwide Czech TV station, is now on-air with Aveco’s ASTRA Studio 2 to completely automate news studio production for Televizní noviny. This news show boasts one of the highest market shares in Europe and offers its viewers a modern visual experience. With the production of Televizní noviny becoming increasingly complex, CET21 knew they had to automate production and selected ASTRA Studio 2 for the task.

“ASTRA Studio 2 controls all our key devices in the news studio in a way that allowed us to design a very complex and visually attractive on-air look for our newscast,” said Josef Uher, CTO of TV Nova. “This new on-air look helps strengthen our news leadership with our viewers.”

“Nova was faced with a difficult challenge — their creative people created a visually impressive look for the show, but one that was technically difficult to implement,” said Pavel Potuzak, Aveco’s Managing Director. “ASTRA Studio 2 provided the ability to automate the complex graphics and other live production functions so that all that is required is a push of a button by the operator.”

ASTRA Studio 2 includes a MOS interface to Octopus, ENPS, Avid iNEWS, Open Media, and other newsroom computer systems. It controls a range of production switchers, graphic devices, video servers, robotic cameras, audio, lighting, and other studio devices.
