TV2U announces OTT services expansion into new markets

OTT media services specialist TV2U has expanded its international footprint with customer wins and major partnerships in both Indonesia and Brazil.  The expansion has been driven by the launch of  ‘TV2U to the Home,’ a dedicated OTT service for the Brazilian market, together with SOL Telecom and CCS TV, and a strategic partnership with Indonesian telecoms providers PT. PGAS Telekomunikasi Nusantara (PGASCOM) and SMARTFREN.

TV2U’s growth has been further supported by the launch of its IVAN-X content management middleware solution, which enables content providers to upload material to the cloud through an innovative web-based interface, and deliver it via a bespoke consumer-facing app and go-live service that is device and network agnostic. Following on from IVAN-X’s successful proof of concept deployment in late 2017, TV2U is on course to launch one of the world’s first white-labelled OTT service from content, to delivery, to applications, supported via its partnership with US-based content delivery specialist, StackPath.

“We’re proud to have grown our global footprint and secured new customers and partners in Brazil and Indonesia,” commented Nick Fitzgerald, executive chairman, TV2U. “We’re excited for the huge potential these markets hold, and are anticipating that TV2U to the Home will reach up to one million subscribers in Brazil within the first year alone. In the year ahead we expect to further build our international presence in, and will be opening up a global distribution and sales network for our Software/Platform as a Service Offering. After already experiencing strong interest from Argentina and South Africa, we anticipate expansion into these markets in 2018.”

Further growth will be fuelled by TV2U’s fully-certified OTT Multimedia and Connected Home 4G Set Top Box (STB), developed in conjunction with Huawei and Xunison. Following the development of the technology in 2017, field trials are now set to take place.

“We’re pleased to be taking steps towards launching our pioneering STB, which is set to significant cost efficiencies due to its compatibility with a multitude of smart home devices,” added Fitzgerald. “With smart devices surging in momentum and becoming a key feature of homes throughout the world, we’re looking forward to the opportunities these advancements will bring.”
