Ventuz and Blackmagic show off-the-shelf 4K UHD

Ventuz Technologys and Blackmagic Design have joined forces to provide an off-the-shelf solution that can be used today for 4K Ultra HD broadcasts. The solution on display at NAB streams uncompressed 4K video from a HyperDeck Pro 4K SSD recorder or a 4K camera to the Ventuz realtime render engine via a DeckLink 4K Extreme capture and playout card. Ventuz layers channel branding graphics into the live video stream and immediately outputs it through the DeckLink 4K Extreme to a 4K display.

“Together with the Blackmagic hardware we can offer a 4k graphics solution that studios can deploy today”, said Erik Beaumont, COO of Ventuz. “The throughput of Blackmagic’s hardware combined with the realtime capabilities of the Ventuz render engine simplifies working in 4K and offers a streamlined, cost-effective way to get ahead of the curve.“

The workflow solution is on display at NAB 2014 at the Ventuz Technology stand, Lower South Hall, booth SL11127. A similar installation using the combination of Ventuz and Blackmagic is shown in the AMD booth SL10405.
