ViewLift partners with Bitmovin to enhance the streaming experience

ViewLift has entered into a multi-year partnership with Bitmovin. The collaboration aims to bolster ViewLift’s full-cycle content distribution and monetisation capabilities by integrating Bitmovin’s cloud-based video streaming infrastructure solutions to elevate the standard of viewing experiences on OTT platforms worldwide.

With recent research from Bitmovin finding that almost half of consumers have unsubscribed from a streaming service due to buffering issues, quality of experience has fast become one of the top metrics for viewer retention. The partnership between ViewLift and Bitmovin will meet global demand for high-quality video streaming experiences by enabling content owners to get to market at speed and scale and maximise revenues while minimising churn.

Commenting on the partnership, Manik Bambha, president of ViewLift, said: “Partnering with Bitmovin is a win-win for both of us. But the ultimate winners in this partnership are our customers and their viewers. Our joint capabilities are poised to provide them with an unrivalled OTT viewing experience. At a time when streaming quality is critical to viewer acquisition and retention and can make or break OTT businesses, our combined technology advantage will allow content owners to step up their game. Bitmovin’s hyper-efficient codecs, cloud-based encoding and intelligently optimised adaptive bitrate optimised encoding ladders combined with ViewLift’s end-to-end content distribution and monetisation solutions are a game-changer in the OTT space.”

ViewLift customers can now access Bitmovin’s capabilities to deliver high-quality, jitter-free streaming video. Bitmovin’s encoding solutions include the Next-Generation VOD Encoder, which has multi-codec streaming, 8K and multi-HDR support, and its Live Event Encoder. Together, they allow ViewLift customers to harness the power of cloud encoding to scale video pipelines efficiently and intelligently optimise adaptive bitrate ladders to lower content delivery network costs without sacrificing video quality. Bitmovin Analytics, Bitmovin’s Stream Lab, an automated device testing solution, and the Bitmovin Player will also be integrated with ViewLift’s OTT platform.

Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder of Bitmovin, said: “In today’s fiercely competitive video streaming market, quality of experience is vital for viewer retention. Teaming up with ViewLift means we will power the best viewing experiences and accelerate how quickly customers get to market and monetise their offerings so they can remain one step ahead of competitors.”
