Vislink expands HEROCast line to include PROceiver

Vislink has announced the addition of the PROceiver receiver unit to its HEROCast HD wireless transmitter for live broadcasting. The PROceiver is a one-box, compact unit designed for use in harsh RF environments where ruggedness, size and weight, combined with broadcast quality performance, is important. The PROceiver supports MPEG-4 / H.264 encoding and DVB-T modulation. The system also includes video picture monitoring on the front panel TFT display.

HEROCast is a result of joint development efforts to make GoPro’s product range suitable for live broadcasting. HEROCast is the smallest and lightest broadcast-quality HD transmitter on the market and the solution now includes the PROceiver receiver. HEROCast was designed to bring the viewer closer to the action than ever before, and was used during live broadcasts of NHL games this spring and the 2015 X Games in Aspen.

“The addition of a receiver unit, specifically designed for the HEROCast transmitter, provides a complete, live broadcast, Point of View solution for our customers,” said Ali Zarkesh, Vice President, Product Management at Vislink. “This bundle will make it even easier for venues to quickly setup an RF infrastructure to implement the use of Point of View camera angles in broadcast television.”
