XD Motion enhances the action for UCI and France TV Sports

XD Motion’s X fly 3D has been utilised by France TV Sports for two recent rugby matches at the Stade de France. Originally used for France vs Argentina on 6 November, including to deliver a live opening sequence that featured team graphics flying over the stadium, it was then brought back when the All Blacks visited two weeks later.

X fly 3D was used to enhance the live action and give audiences a better understanding of match strategies by offering new views of the team presentations, scores and more. For both outings, the need was for accurate calibration from the mechanical tracking, something which XD Motion was able to deliver.

Benoit Dentan, founder and CEO of XD Motion, said: “This is the third time we have integrated augmented reality in a France TV live sports event in France. The team presentation was clear and sophisticated, simple and easy to read for spectators. They want more.”

XD Motion technology was also out in force during the first two rounds of the UCI Champions League in Palma, Mallorca and Lithuania. The X fly 1D cable cam with augmented reality mechanical tracking was used for coverage from Discovery/AWS/UCI, delivering enhanced sequences and projections on the tracks.
