Zero Density strengthens international team with two new appointments
Zero Density has appointed Steff Kempink to the position of solution developer – virtual production and Roel Bartstra has been named solution owner – virtual production. These strategic additions underscore Zero Density’s commitment to expanding its solutions team and aligning even more closely with its current and future client base.
Kempink joins from NEP The Netherlands, a partner of Zero Density, while Bartstra comes from Epic Games, the company behind Unreal Engine. Both bring extensive experience and specific expertise with Zero Density’s products and virtual production in both the broadcast and cinema (ICVFX) industries.
Recognised as the first Zero Density Reality Power User in 2016, Bartstra has worked on large-scale entertainment and sports projects in the Netherlands and the Middle East. His subsequent role at Epic Games involved assisting broadcasters and cinema productions in leveraging the Unreal Engine globally.
Kempink started working with Reality in 2018. He has developed software to integrate Reality into complex environments and has built high-end projects using Unreal Engine.
In their new roles, Bartstra and Kempink will join the product team, collaborating closely with the CTO/CPO, technical product managers and developers to further enhance Zero Density’s products and solutions. Bartstra will serve as the solution owner for the virtual production portfolio, while Kempink will be focusing on proof of concepts aimed at future product and solution integration as solution developer.
“Having worked with their product for a long time and having experienced numerous Unreal-based projects worldwide in recent years, I am eager to use my expertise to collaborate with the great team at Zero Density and bring the virtual production solutions to the next level,” said Bartstra.
“The world has had but a taste of the limitless potential of virtual production. How it can reduce costs while enhancing the quality of experiences for both audiences and storytellers alike. I foresee many groundbreaking features in the near future that will truly astonish people,” said Kempink.
